We moved to Devon in 2014 and were looking for a preschool for our eldest daughter. When we visited Clyst Valley she absolutely loved it and immediately sat down and coloured in an Easter Egg.

Both my children attended the preschool and I became the chairperson on the committee. When my children left to go to
primary school I started looking for a job that fitted in with the term time hours and initially began working within their primary school.

I then was approached by preschool to support a SEND child before being offered a part time position and re-training as a
preschool teacher. I love working with the children, especially with the arts and crafts side of things. The staff are like a second family to me and always will be, even when I eventually retire.

Qualifications

  • Early Years Educator – Level 3
  • BSc (Hons) Counselling
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Safeguarding – Level 2
  • Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 2
