The Committee

Many people do not realise that our preschool is a registered charity and a ‘not for profit’ organisation run by (and cannot operate without) a friendly volunteer committee of trustees. It is made up mainly of parents and community members. The committee plays an important role in supporting the preschool and helping it thrive.

Whilst the manager and her team take overall responsibility for the setting and are committed to taking care of the daily running of the preschool, the committee:

• Ensures the preschool meets all legal, financial, and safeguarding requirements
• Oversees budgets, policies, and fundraising
• Employs and supports the staff team
• Works closely with the preschool manager, who leads the day-to-day running

Being part of the committee is a great way to get involved, support your child’s early years education, and help shape the future of the preschool. Meetings are usually held termly to organise fundraising events and discuss financial decisions.
